IPO DIR. ESTRELLITA BELTRAN-ABELARDO is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the Far Eastern University, Bachelor of Laws from the Manuel L. Quezon University and has earned 30 units in MBA at the De La Salle University.

She joined the then Philippine Patent Office in 1969, which was changed to the Bureau of Patents, Trademarks and Technology Transfer in 1987 and later reorganized to Intellectual Property Office in 1998 where she served in various capacities such as Trademark Examiner, Hearing Officer, Chief Patent Trademark Registry and EDP, and Chief Hearing Officer until she was appointed as Director of the Bureau of Legal Affairs in 1999 up to her retirement on January 2, 2010.

She has been invited as guest speaker in various fora including the academe, to speak on the different topics of intellectual property. She is also an MCLE lecturer of Chan Robles Law Office on the subject of intellectual property.

She is a professor of law teaching, Law on Intellectual Property, Insurance Law and Commercial law Review since 1991 up to the present at the MLQU School of Law.

She is a pre-Bar Reviewer and MCLE Lecturer for the Chan Robles Law Firm since 2005.

She is now an IP Practitioner, a former President of the Intellectual Property Alumni Association (IPAA) and a member of the Intellectual Property Professors (IP PRO).
